Anabolics are steroids derived from testosterone in which it is a question of chemically reducing the androgenic and virilizing effects and increasing the anabolic actions. DHT binds to a receptor site near a terminal carboxyl group. The steroid receptor complex is activated and transported to the cell nucleus and binds to a DNA receptor site, increasing the activity of RNA polymerase and the formation of messenger RNAs, stimulating the synthesis of cellular proteins ultimately responsible for physiopharmacological actions.
