Side effects of Nandrolone compared with Testosterone

Steroids are a type of drug that are derived from male sex hormones (androgens). There are many different types of steroids, but the most common one is testosterone. 

Testosterone is the main hormone that is responsible for the development of male characteristics.

Nandrolone is a synthetic steroid that is similar to testosterone. It is mainly used in the treatment of anaemia and osteoporosis. Unlike testosterone, nandrolone does not have any androgenic effects. This means that it does not cause any of the masculinizing side effects that are associated with testosterone use, such as hair loss and prostate enlargement.

The main side effect is the stimulation of progesterone receptors, these cannot be mediated by the use of antiestrogens, carbergoline often has to be used to counteract this side effect.
