Tribolin Background and Composition

Tribolin is an injectable veterinary preparation containing two active steroid ingredients – nandrolone decanoate and methandriol dipropionate. It was developed in the 1970s, intended for increasing muscle growth and weight gain in livestock animals.

Nandrolone decanoate is an esterified injectable steroid derived from testosterone. It provides significant muscle building effects with relatively mild side effects compared to many steroids.

In contrast, methandriol possesses very weak anabolic properties with an anabolic rating of only 30-60 (testosterone is 100). However, methandriol exhibits considerable estrogenic activity according to scientific evidence.

This can result in concerning side effects like gynecomastia, excess water retention, high blood pressure, testosterone suppression, cardiovascular strain, and more.

Dubious Formulation Rationalization

The methandriol component was claimed to have synergistic “amplifying” effects to enhance nandrolone’s muscle building capabilities.

However, these intended benefits are unsubstantiated by current medical data. In fact, methandriol may actually compete with and counteract the effects of nandrolone to a degree due to its estrogenic properties.

While aimed at improving nandrolone’s effects, experts agree that adding a highly estrogenic compound like methandriol into Tribolin was likely counterproductive.

In summary, Tribolin represents another obscurity containing questionable steroid combinations that failed to provide favorable risk-reward ratios. Safer single-drug alternatives exist without these unpredictable formulations.
