Assessing the Risks and Benefits of the Injectable Steroid Blend Libriol

Examining the Intended Synergy and Estrogenic Effects of Its Nandrolone and Methandriol Composition

Libriol is an injectable veterinary preparation that contains two active steroid ingredients – nandrolone phenylpropionate and methylandrostenediol dipropionate (methandriol).

Nandrolone is an anabolic steroid derived from modifying the testosterone molecule. It is highly popular among athletes for increasing lean muscle mass, strength, endurance, and athletic performance with relatively mild side effects. However, it can suppress natural testosterone production.

The phenylpropionate ester extends the release of nandrolone for several days after injection. Doses of 400-600 mg weekly are commonly used to obtain sufficient muscle building benefit.

In contrast, methandriol has very weak anabolic properties with an anabolic rating of only 30-60 (testosterone is 100). However, it exhibits potent estrogenic activity which can lead to water retention, gynecomastia, testosterone suppression, increased blood pressure, and cardiovascular strain.

The intended synergistic or amplifying effects of methandriol combined with nandrolone are not well supported scientifically. In fact, methandriol may actually compete with and counteract the nandrolone due to its estrogenic effects.

To obtain enough nandrolone from Libriol requires injecting very high doses of methandriol as well, exacerbating the risks. Anti-estrogens like letrozole may help reduce side effects somewhat.

In summary, the formulation of Libriol aiming to enhance nandrolone’s effects raises concerns due to the addition of a highly estrogenic compound. Safer single-drug alternatives to nandrolone alone exist without the questionable methandriol addition.
